Where is my gas going?

well..what is a "full tank"? When I really push it I put 11.5 gallons or so on a fill up - the rated capacity of our tanks is 12.1 gals. I suspect that does not include the filler pipe, which probably allows an extra 3 qts. or so.
I guess I am asking how much you typically put in on a fill-up to make sure your gauge is reading correctly..

A lot of things can cause high fuel consumption. Basic things to check...

Are the tires properly inflated?
Are the ignition components OK? (plugs, cap rotor, plug wires)
Is the air filter clean?
Is the engine reaching normal operating temperature?
Are you using the correct weight of oil?
Are the brakes dragging?
Is the timing to spec?
Is the ECU throwing any codes at you?
Do you drive the piss out of it?

I have a stock engine with an exhaust on. I change the piping but not the cat. and also have a torn cv boot.
I'm only getting 200 or so miles to a full tank of gas. is there something that I should check or replace or clean? I need tips

Sedan and hatch fuel tanks are 45 liters. Dunno what that works out to in "funny measurements" though

Hondas gauges suck. Sometimes if I'm driving hard the Gas Needle will drop down another 1/8 of the way, and I know damn sure my car didn't just use an 1/8 of the tank up that fast. But sometimes it goes back up. So I don't think it is very accurate.

I'm getting about 30mpg at the moment.

IAIA - mine does the same thing. When i gun it, it drops about an 1/8 of a tank then once my foot is off the gas it goes back up.

I'm getting around 28-29mpg

Well it's not that the gauges suck it's the sender not getting an accurate reading. When you floor it the gas gets slammed to the back of the tank and the sender thinks its lower than what it really is. Because the sender is just like a buoy.

Cars do that. I fac those big ole jet airliners you take on vacation do it too. It's fuel tank slosh. Don't sweat it. If you think 1/8 of a 10 gallon tank is bad think about 1000 lbs of jet fuel difference.
